FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the wedding in Truckee or Soda Springs? How far away are they?
A: The wedding is technically in Soda Springs, about a 25 minute drive from Truckee. There aren’t many amenities in Soda Springs, so if you want to walk to a coffee shop or go out to dinner, we suggest staying in Truckee and taking the shuttle to the wedding.
Q: Is there a shuttle to the Lodge if we stay in Truckee?
A: Yes! A shuttle will leave from the Springhill Suites in Truckee at 3:30pm sharp on Saturday, July 25. It will leave the Lodge at 10:30pm and return to Truckee by 11:00pm.
Q: My invitation says “you’re staying in the Lodge.” How can I book my room?
You’ll be staying with us at Rainbow Lodge. There should be a link with your invitation, or we’ll email or text you the link to book your room.
Q: What’s the dress code?
Welcome dinner: casual
Wedding: cocktail or garden party.
Q: Are children allowed?
We’re happy to welcome children under 3 at the wedding (Saturday) and welcome dinner (Friday). We welcome kids over 4 only at the welcome dinner (Friday). We kindly ask for your careful supervision to not turn the venue into a playground. There will be a designated playroom inside the lodge. If you need help finding a local babysitter, please check out this website or ask us for a rec!
Q: Are pets allowed?
Sadly, no. Denali will be there, but she gets to be queen dog for the weekend (and forever).
Q: Is there a way to offer or find a carpool to Truckee?
A: Yes! Here is a spreadsheet that you can fill out to offer or find a ride.
Q: What’s on the menu?
A: You’ll find out! Please indicate your dietary preferences and any restrictions/allergies on the RSVP form.
Q: When should I book my accommodations?
A: Summers in Tahoe can get really busy, so we suggest booking as soon as possible. Our special rates at the Springhill Suites will last until 6/25/2026.
Q: What will the weather be like in July?
A: It might be hot. It might be cold. It could snow. It could rain! The weather in the Sierra Nevada is never predictable, so be prepared. Generally, summers are a beautiful time with warm days and cool nights. Typical temperatures in July range from 78 - 86 during the day and 38 - 48 at night. If it gets too hot, bring a bathing suit to jump in a lake. If it’s too cold, bring a good jacket!
